Sonae Sierra, the international real estate specialist, has earned a prominent position in the Shopping Center Performance Report (SCPR) 2024, ranking second among 20 shopping centre operators in Germany. This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to excellence in the retail property sector.
The SCPR evaluates the performance of various shopping centres across the country, and Sonae Sierra’s management of the ALEXA and Quarree Wandsbek centres has garnered exceptional ratings. Both centres topped their respective categories in Berlin and Hamburg, with ALEXA ranking seventh and Quarree Wandsbek sixteenth among 400 centres surveyed nationwide. Notably, ALEXA has been recognized as the third strongest shopping centre brand in Germany, reflecting its strong market presence.
Christine Hager, Director of Property Management at Sonae Sierra in Germany, expressed her pride in the achievements, stating, “Our entire team is thrilled with the top ratings from the chains. The positive results of the SCPR 2024 survey are testament to the professionalism and quality of Sierra Property Management Services. Sierra is and remains an extremely reliable, profitable and valuable partner for the entire industry – for both retailers and investors.”
Dirk von der Ahé, Sierra Leasing Manager for Germany, emphasized the company’s strengths, noting, “We build on 30 years of international experience, an extensive global retailer network, and proven leasing expertise. Tenants and owners appreciate our tailored leasing concepts, innovative approaches, flexibility, communication skills, efficiency, and solution-oriented approach.”
Oliver Hanna, Sierra Center Manager of ALEXA, highlighted the unique success of the centre, saying, “ALEXA has been a success story from day one. In addition to the many great placings in the ranking, there is a special feature that makes the success even greater. Among the top five large centers with over 40,000 square meters, ALEXA is the only inner-city center, while the other top places in this category are occupied by retail parks and convenience stores on the outskirts of the city.”
The Shopping Center Performance Report, initiated by consulting firm Ecostra, has been assessing tenant satisfaction in 400 German shopping centres since 2011. Chain stores with multiple locations across different centres are invited to participate, providing insights into their economic success and overall market satisfaction. The report is supported by media partners Immobilien Zeitung and Textilwirtschaft.
