Brno+South Moravian Region at Expo Real:revitalized localities, areas for housing & industrial zones

29 September 2017

Brno and South Moravian Region are returning to Expo Real property fair (Munich, 4-6 October 2017) after several years. On the joint CZECH REGIONS & CITIES stand, they are ready to present a wide spectrum of projects. Brno focuses its presentation on Ponava – a newly revitalized locality, which has been always used for leisure and sports. According to the City´s plans, three major sports venues are concentrated on this 44.5 hectare site: a regional football stadium seating over 30,000 visitors, a multipurpose hockey arena with the estimated audience of 12,000 and a wellness centre for approximately 2,300 attendees, including a 25-metre swimming pool. The site has also a potential for new office and residential development – up to 1,500 apartments can be built there. The South Moravian region will offer investors the complex of an old hospital in Znojmo, where the development of housing and civic amenities is under consideration. The Znojmo – Malá Louka Development Area, intended to serve the same purposes, has a local zoning plan in place, where space for meeting people, along with opportunities for relaxation, recreation and sports in the environment of public green areas are expected. Investment opportunities also exist in two industrial zones: the first of them (Kollárova-Blatnická Zone, city of Veselí nad Moravou), covers an area of 30.9 hectares and is intended for small-scale industrial manufacturing, manufacturing services, crafts and possibly commercial facilities related to the principal manufacturing function. The other industrial zone on display is called Blučina, whose total square area of 55 hectares can be used for industrial manufacturing and logistics purposes; the other types of service and commercial facilities are also permissible (for instance, data logistics, production of electricity).
