Germanyʼs Wuppermann inaugurated a steel processing facility at the port of Gönyű on the Danube in northwest Hungary. The cost of the investment is HUF 30 billion, ten percent of which was financed through a government grant. The project, implemented with the assistance of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, will create about 200 new jobs. Founded in 1872, the Wuppermann Group has interests in 11 countries by now and has 9 manufacturing facilities. In 2016, the company realised sales of EUR 522 million with a total number of employees of 1,500 worldwide.
