Marriott is planning to open a St. Regis hotel in Kula Belgrade. It would be the seventh of its kind in Europe and only its 61st worldwide and is being planned along the Sava river. The Marriott hotel in Belgrade is located in the center of town on Republic Square. The new St. Regis should be open for its first guests in 2020. The new building will have 40 floors of which 11 will belong to the hotel as the remainder will be devoted to exclusive, luxury residences. This would be the first location in Europe where apartments would be connected with the brand. In September last year, Marriott International hotel chain took over Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. Through that move there was a merging of Marriott brands Ritz Carlton, Courtyard and Marriott with St. Regis, Starwood’s Sheraton, and Westin.
