€236m invested during 2016 in Serbian free zones

The Serbian government has reported that €236m in free zones in Serbia during 2016 and that they produced €2.15bn in exported goods. There are fourteen free zones in Serbia, Priboj, Vranje, Svilajnac, Apatin, Nis-South, FAS-Kragujevac, Smederevo, Krusevac, Pirot, Zrenjanin, Subotica, Novi Sad, Sabac and Uzice. There are more than 200 multinational tenants in these zones of which 71 are producing goods for export. The industrial hubs employ more 25,000 employees. The car components sector is the best-represented in the zones, but the list of tenants includes Fiat, Continental, Impol Seval, Copper Mill Sevojno, Panasonic, Swarovski, Siemens, PKC, Yazaki and Lear.
