Tatranská akciová společnost, owned by Slovak entrepreneur Roman Weck, is planning to modernize the Štrbské pleso ski resort in the High Tatras. The project, worth €25m, will include the addition of three new ski lifts — the 766-meter Kempinski, the 1,211-meter Trigan and the 447 meter FIS. The new lifts will help alleviate the traffic load around the 4-SLD Solisko station. The company also wants to create six new ski slopes totaling 4.1 km or 190,000 sqm: Krivánska, Koska, Furkotka, Mlynická, Helios and Generál. The plan also includes a new snowing system along with a new water reservoir. Tatranská akciová is hoping to break ground in 2019, with completion expected to follow in two years. Weck cooperates closely with Tatry Mountain Resort, which he has a stake in.
