In the first half of 2017, the number of real estate sales rose 10 percent compared to the same period in 2016. The cities with the highest sales was Belgrade (17,000 contracts) and Vojvodina (24,000 contracts), according to the countrys geodetic authority. Over the first six months, a total of 65,000 real estate contracts were signed, according to the body, while registering around 75,000 facilities for sale. South and East part of Serbia registered the lowest number of sales, with fewer than 10,000 contracts signed. The busiest month of the year so far was June and the most expensive apartment sold, a 144 sqm unit in Belgrade Municipality Stari Grad, went for €420,000. However, last year, a similar sized unit in the same district sold for €700,000. Meanwhile, the most expensive house sale was €620,000 for a property in Belgrade, which was barely half last year’s record: €1.2m for a house in Subotica.
