The global hotel operator Sheraton is coming to Serbia, with the first ever scheduled to open in Novi Said in November. It’s being prepared at the corner of Bulevar Evrope and Futoski put, in a building owned by the Serbian businessman Milorad Kostic. Kostic, owner of the company MK Group, bought the 8,500 sqm building from the company Aleksadar gradnja based in Novi Sad. Aleksandar gradnja had invested about €11m with a view to opening a Holiday Inn the building, but negotiations broke down.
MK Group already cooperates with Kempinski hotels and has broadened its scope to include Sheraton, part of Marriot International, as part of its goal of becoming a leading hotel company in the region. MK Group plans to expand its operations in Montenegro and Croatia.
