Croatia’s largest bus carrier bought German Arriva

Arriva, part of Deutsche Bahn (DB) and one of the world leading passenger transport companies, has taken over a 78 percent share in Autotrans Group, a transport company based in Rijeka. Autotrans Group has more than 500 lines in international and domestic transport, employing 1,333 people with more than 8.6 million passengers annually. Autotrans Group includes AK Karlovac, Autotrans Lika, Croatia Lines, APP, Velebit Turist and Pan Alpen Adria GmbH. Arriva plans to expand across Europe and last year invested €359 million in its operations. Arriva is the key rail service provider in the Netherlands and Sweden. Arriva has headquarters in Sunderland, while in Croatia it has 600 buses and employs 1,418 people.
