GLM Group, an Italian producer of automobile exhaust systems, has leased production units in Zrenjanin, which is owned by the Serbian company Minel. In the first stage the company will be investing €3.5m into the plant’s production lines and machines, with production scheduled to start in November 2017. The plant should employ around 150 people.
GLM Group has other foreign production units in Mexico, but 80 percent of its products are exported to Western European countries. The current lease in Zrenjanin runs is a 3-year agreement for 5,000 sqm, with an option to add 2,000 sqm. The company expects to eventually fill 10,000 sqm. GLM is the fifth Italian company to start production in Zrenjanin, which is located in Vojvodina.
