ARETE Group has successfully completed and handed over the final unit of ARETE Park Valašské Meziříčí to global logistics giant DB Schenker. The newly finished warehouse spans over 4,200 square meters and marks the third unit leased by DB Schenker in the park. The company has signed a long-term lease for a period of nine years.
The entire ARETE Park Valašské Meziříčí offers more than 25,000 square meters of premium space, designed for light manufacturing, assembly, and logistics purposes. The latest unit will serve as a warehouse for DB Schenker, complementing the company’s global logistics operations. With 1,850 branches, over 725 warehouses, and more than 72,700 employees worldwide, DB Schenker is a well-established and stable tenant for the ARETE Group, with a history dating back to its founding in 1872 by Gottfried Schenker.
ARETE Park also prioritizes sustainability. Functional photovoltaic systems with a total capacity of 999 kWp are installed on the roofs of two older buildings, spanning around 4,600 square meters. These systems provide DB Schenker with 950 MWh of clean energy annually, with any surplus sold to the distribution grid. The park’s design not only promotes energy efficiency but also supports local wildlife. Two biotopes, including a wetland and a “frog castle” for amphibians, have been developed on-site to enhance biodiversity.
In line with ARETE Group’s ESG strategy, the newest warehouse is currently undergoing BREEAM® certification, aiming for an Excellent rating. One of the older halls in the park achieved the same certification in July 2024. BREEAM® certification is a globally recognized standard for building sustainability, and studies show that properties managed according to this method not only reduce operating costs but also increase the value of the assets—a key consideration for ARETE Group’s investors.
