A company related to Qatar Hambo Group has acquired Wood Industry Sanica near the town of Kljuc in an investment of around €1.3m. Only two bids were submitted in a public tender for the company, with the Qatar offer having been by far the higher. The company will still have to invest around €2m into Wood Industry Sanica’s production process in order to make the employment of 200 people possible.
Two years ago, the Bosnian company Unsko Sanske sume bought the same company, but the project proved beyond its means. The new Qatari investor is involved in the metal and construction sectors around the Middle East and is looking to expand in Europe.
