A-line metro extension could open by spring 2015

10 March 2014

Prague’s western traffic arteries have been clogged for over two years as construction of the newest portion of the city’s metro network continued. Prague councilor Jiří Pařízek told Radio Impuls in an interview that the basic construction work has now been completed, and that installation of equipment is now underway. Pařízek predicted that testing of the entire system could begin by the end of the year. “If all the tests go ahead without trouble, the new section of the metro could be open by next spring,” he said.

The extension of the A-line will have four stations: Bořislavka, Nádraží Veleslavín, Petřiny a Motol. The total cost of the work is expected to come in at less than CZK 22.5bn.
