A1 Croatia telecom records a slight decline in revenue and profit in 2020

10 February 2021

A1 Croatia generated EUR 428.1 million in total revenues in 2020, which is 1.1 percent less than in 2019, and an operating profit (EBITDA) of EUR 143.4 million or 1.2 percent less, according to telecommunications companies.

In addition to unpredictable and extraordinary circumstances caused by the covid-19 pandemic, the business results of A1 Croatia were affected by the consequences of significant earthquakes in the Zagreb and Sisak-Moslavina area, A1 notes.

The decline in total revenues and profits (EBITDA) is mainly the result of lower revenues from roaming visitors and the weakening value of the kuna, as well as an increase in risky and uncollectible receivables.

The President of the Management Board of A1 Croatia, Jiří Dvorjančanski, emphasized that 2020 was the most difficult year since doing business in Croatia, but also that disasters such as devastating earthquakes and pandemics were an additional incentive to turn to the community and users. The consolidated financial results of A1 Croatia were published as part of the results of the parent company A1 Telekom Austria Group in Vienna.
