ABB has opened its new headquarters in Skanska’s Axis office building in Kraków. The relocation process has already brought 900 employees into the building, as a part of the IT and energy efficiency services provider’s consolidation plans across Kraków. In all, Axis will provide room for 2,000 of the company’s employees who will be providing finance, IT and HR support for the company’s global operations. The new office is ABB’s largest shared service center in the world.
Skanska secured the building’s occupancy permit this month, having already offloaded the building earlier this year to the Swedish investor Niam as part of a portfolio transaction. The office building added 20,000 sqm of lettable space to the local office market, with a LEED Gold certificate acehived at the Shell & Core stage. Skanska S.A oversaw the construction, while Artur Jasiński and Wspólnicy Biuro Architektoniczne provided the design.
