Civic Platform, the most popular party in Poland, is preparing to launch an online rights charter that’s expected to be announced at the end of April. However, observers claim the decision has been made in the context of a wave of criticism over the government’s handling of the ACTA copyright protection agreement. This online charter was been established to regulate the relationship between web users and the authorities as well as the rights of internet users right. Minister Tusk said it was necessary to find a a middle ground between users’ freedom and copyright law. Poland suspended ACTA ratification after an outbreak of protests warning the treaty would lead to online censorship.
