Aegean Airlines announced that its losses doubled in Q 1 2020 year-on-year due to the impact of the pandemic. The largest Greek airline, which is a member of the Star Alliance airline group, reported a loss of € 85.4m, making its loss of €35.2m over the first three months of 2019 look good. The company’s reported figures show that sales slumped 15 percent in 2020 compared to 2019, as it transported just 2.1 million people. Its total number of flights fell 6 percent thanks to a steep decline in March that reversed positive results from the first two months of the year.
