Agora to cut 250 jobs by next 2013

10 September 2012

The Polish media company Agora is planning to cut more than 250 jobs by the end of 2012. The company signed an agreement with the union this month, stating that the layoffs will be carried out between Sept. 10 until the end of 2013. Agora said it was heavily hit by the recent advertising slowdown and could not afford to keep its current workforce. The company also listed “rapid changes on the media market” as one of the reasons behind the decision. It had 2,380 full-time employees at the end of June, but job reductions will affect also other workers.
