An investment by Fritz Manufacturing has been prepared for the new Águeda bicycle factory. The new factory is due to open by the end of 2016, assuming construction begins in time. Lusa Nadais Gil, president of Águeda Chamber, said that the factory would be built in the Parque Empresarial do Casarão where land has been prepared for the project and that the investor has been informed of the town’s conditions. “For our part there will be no problems”, he said. The Taiwanese company expects to produce 250,000 middle range bicycles per year for the European market.
