Ahold Delhaize sale rise to €18bn in Q1

Sales of the Dutch retail network Bol.com increased by 40 percent in Q1, thanks to the rush by its customers to buy goods online. The number of vendors using this platform has increased to 21,000 and their sales have increased by 66 percent. Its parent company, Ahold Delhaize, increased sales by almost 15 percent in Q1 to €18bn. Sales growth in Europe was 11 percent, while European online sales grew 25 percent.

Other brands run by the company including the Albert Heijn supermarket chain, Gall & Gall wine and spirits stores and the Ethos pharmacy chain. However, with the exception of Bol.com, Ahold Delhaize does not provide differentiated figures for its other outlets in quarterly figures.
