Airbus Helicopters is planning to develop a production plant in Gyula, southeastern Hungary. The project is being realized in partnership with the Hungarian government, which will establish an aviation industry academy to help staff the Airbus plant in the future. The company will produce precision components at the new plant, which is scheduled to start operating in 2021. “Hungary offers us the opportunity to implement our industrial strategy based on the specialization of our sites and to set up a greenfield aerospace complex according to the most modern industry requirements,” said Airbus Helicopters CEO Bruno Even. “We also can rely on a skilled and well-educated workforce. I’m looking forward to welcoming Hungary as a new member of the global Airbus Helicopters family.”
