Aleja Kasztanowców in Katowice will shine thanks to the construction of the Home Concept Design Park

26 June 2022

The Home Concept Interior Gallery, operating in Katowice’s Roździeń, will transform into Home Concept Design Park – a modern interior design park whose customers will benefit from a comprehensive offer. The investor, the AB Development Group, will also take care of the historic Aleja Kasztanowców, located in the immediate vicinity, as part of the development of the complex. It is a remnant of the road that in the past led to the oldest building in Katowice – Folwark in Dąbrówka Mała from the 15th century.

Inspirational exhibitions, products following current trends, industry news, meetings for architects and designers, as well as the opportunity to use their knowledge and skills – all of this will find its place under the roof of the Home Concept Design Park. The concept of an interior design park arises from the belief that good design and surrounding oneself with beauty constitute the quality, comfort and joy of life, adding sublime taste and character to everyday life. Hence the idea that by expanding this space and introducing new tenants, not only to expand the offer of comprehensive interior design, but also to significantly expand the possibility of using design services and professional consultancy in this area.

Ultimately, the interior design park located at Aleja Roździeńskiego 191 will consist of three buildings with a total area of approximately 20,000 sqm. As part of the second stage, already in 2023, the Home Concept Design Park’s offer will be enriched with brand stores to which the investor will make the building under construction at his disposal. Among the tenants there will be a unique, holistic concept of KOMFORT home, with a wide range of finishing products, as well as accessories for interior arrangement and decoration. In the new version of the Katowice park of interior design, showrooms will also open, among others, premium brands: Dion and IWC Home. In this way, Home Concept Design Park will expand the available offer of high-quality furniture.

The aesthetic coherence of the interior design park as part of the expansion will be ensured by the rearrangement of the functioning Home Concept building, which houses the largest Maxfliz showroom in Poland. The change of the facade and the metamorphosis of this space will run in parallel with the construction of the new facility.

“Our ambition is to create the most metropolitan interior design park in the region and to adjust our offer even better to the needs of today’s premium customers. We would like Home Concept Design Park to be the first choice destination for all those planning construction, renovation or interior finishing, including specialists who – we are sure – will appreciate the potential of this concept, its scale and quality,” says Krzysztof Kołaszewski, Investor of Home Concept Design Park.

The entire park project will be completed by the revitalization of its special part – Aleja Kasztanowców, which consists of lines of 22-century trees, under the care of the conservator of monuments. The alley leads to the historic Old Mill, being an element of the nearby Dąbrówka Mała Folwark. The intention of the investor, Home Concept Design Park, is to revitalize the avenue and integrate it – respecting its historic and natural value – with the remaining spaces of the new interior design park. This approach is the “and” in defining the brand and the uniqueness of the place that Home Concept Design Park will be.

The revitalization of Aleja Kasztanowców is based on the belief that it is a natural human desire to be in an environment that, apart from fulfilling its aesthetic and functional functions, will also be safe and comfortable. This applies to both the interior space, which is represented by a home, apartment or daily workplace, and the exterior, in this case, urban space, where a harmonious coexistence with nature is a special value.

The revitalization plan of Aleja Kasztanowców includes the now fenced area for walks and other forms of peaceful recreation. This will be achieved, among others, by elements of the so-called small architecture in the form of park benches or modern lighting. A wooden pier will be built on the alley, similar to those that can be found in landscape parks. Additionally, the chestnut trees will be brought out of the darkness by effective illumination. The project also includes an outdoor exhibition space for tenants, as well as an event space with high potential for social, industry and commercial use.

The extension project of the Home Concept Design Park takes into account the good of the surrounding space, which in the new version may serve many generations. The symbolism of chestnut trees complements this idea – it was once believed that chestnuts drive all kinds of evil out of huts, and also bring good luck and peace of mind. Home Concept Design Park, together with its eco-responsible neighborhood, has great potential to create synergy between the inner and outer surroundings of a human being. As a whole, coherent with the surroundings, it will constitute a bridge to finding a balance in everyday space.

“Sustainable development is the optimal environment for quality design. In creating the Home Concept Design Park, we are guided by sensitivity to the surrounding beauty, which is symbolically expressed by the revitalization of Aleja Kasztanowców. In nature, greenery, ecology and care for the natural heritage, we see a great inspiration for design that follows the spirit of the times. Chestnut trees are a noble complement to our park and a metaphor for a journey from the past to modernity,” summarizes Krzysztof Kołaszewski.

The investor of Home Concept Design Park is the AB Development Group, and its main contractor – the Inbud Bielsko Group. The construction of the new facility has officially started.
