Alico, the third largest company in the life insurance market, will change its name to Metropolitan Life, according to the Insurance Supervisory Commission (CSA).
Alico is taking the name of the its main shareholder, the US group Metropolitan Life (MetLife). This is the company’s second rebranding. Originally AIF Life, the insurer changed its name to Alico in 2010.
Last year Alico had a profit of RON 74m (€17m), an increase of 7 percent compared to 2010. The company was founded in 1998.
