Samsung Securities has acquired Amazon’s logistics center near the Prague airport from Logistis, which had owned the property since 2015. It’s the latest in a long string of transactions featuring buyers from South Korea. Idnes.cz writes that Amazon’s lease runs until 2030 and that the price of the asset, while officially unknown, is being estimated at over €150m. This figure is reliably thought to be up to 10 percent too high. “The price that the Korean partner offered for the building exceeded our expectations and motivated our investors to sell even though our original intention was to leave this valuable asset in our portfolio,” said Monika Hubková, an asset manager at Logistis. She said the deal had taken five months to put together. The 125,000 facility focuses on taking in books, toys and domestic goods, repacking them and sending them on. “We were surprised by their excellent knowledge of the Czech market from the moment they arrived,” said Michal Hink from Dentons, which represented the seller. “In short, they did their homework.” Savills is thought to have brokered the deal.
