In a move that could establish it as a leading speech synthesizer producer, Amazon cut the ribbon on its new IT development hub at the Olivia Business Centre in Gdynia. This is Amazon’s third investment in Poland since the start of the year, following the completion of distribution centers in Poznań and Wrocław, worth €120m each. The company has launched the recruitment process but has not revealed how many jobs it could add to the local labor market. Amazon currently has 12,000 employees in Poland.
Company spokeswoman Marzena Więckowska said that the American online giant is looking both for highly skilled IT specialists as well as, among others, Japanese linguists. She points out that the requirement program will take several years but adds that the company offers a competitive salary.
