Amazon is increasing the size of its logistics network in Spain by opening two new logistics centers this fall in Rubí (Barcelona) and Leganés (Madrid). Amazon Logistics is working with independent delivery companies while adding to its own capacity in order to meet growing customer demand. Amazon invested €2.9bn in Spain between 2011 and 2018, including costs associated with infrastructure, shipping, wages, and employee benefits are included.
The company also developed two software development centers (Tech Hubs) in Madrid and Barcelona. In 2019 alone, Amazon created 2,200 jobs in Spain, increasing its workforce there to 7,000 permanent employees.
