Amilum Bulgaria will invest more than $123.5m in its plant in Razgrad, northern Bulgaria. It plans to increase the number of employees at the facility by 300 and to invest in production capacities. The plant is used for maize processing and the investment will enable it to increase its production to 900,000 tons per year. The majority of the plant’s output will be exported. Amilium Bulgaria is a part of Archer Daniels Midland Company, the US food processing company. The Bulgarian unit produces sweeteners like glucose, fructose and dextrose.
