AmRest revenues increased initially by 70.7% y / y to EUR 464.4 million in Q2 this year

AmRest Holdings SE had EUR 464.4 million of consolidated revenues (+ 70.7% y / y) in Q2 this year, the company said, citing estimated data.

In the second quarter of 2021, after a year of negative effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a clear revival in sales trends, both for all AmRest restaurant brands and for the entire industry. The improvement in results was driven by investments and implementation of the strategy in the Digital area, i.e. actions, which allowed for a significant increase in sales generated in the take-away and with delivery channels. Quick response to consumer needs and efficient adaptation to various regulations and restrictions in individual countries of operation are other factors that contributed to the growth of the group’s revenues. Initial consolidated sales of AmRest in the second quarter of 2021 amounted to EUR 464.4 million and was 70.7% higher than in the same period in 2020 and 22.2% higher than in the previous quarter, announced the company.

The comparable sales ratio in restaurants, excluding the impact of currency fluctuations and the results of temporarily closed premises, increased to 135% in Q2 2021, compared to 91.9% at the end of the previous quarter, the company also said.

The share of operating restaurants in the AmRest portfolio remained stable and amounted to approximately 97% at the end of June, compared to 95% at the end of March 2021.

Preliminary sales generated on the CEE markets amounted to EUR 206.5 million in the second quarter of 2021, which is an increase of 54.6% compared to the same period in 2020 and 26.1% compared to the previous quarter.

The revenues of the Russian division in Q2 2021 amounted to EUR 46.5 million and were 108.4% higher than in the previous year and 23.3% higher than in Q1 2021.

Sales of the Western Europe division in Q2 2021 amounted to EUR 175.7 million and was 90.1% higher than in the previous year and 16.5% higher than in the previous quarter.

Revenues on the Chinese market in Q2 2021 reached EUR 26.6 million, an increase of 38.2% compared to the same period in 2020 and by 24.6% compared to Q1 2021.

Revenues of the “Other” segment in the second quarter amounted to EUR 9.1 million, 99.4% higher than in the previous year and 42.8% higher than in the previous quarter, it mentioned.

AmRest Holdings SE is the largest independent restaurant chain operator in Central and Eastern Europe. The company is also developing activities in, inter alia, Western Europe, Russia and China. The company has been listed on the WSE since 2005.
