AmRest, which owns more than 800 restaurants in 12 European markets, reached an agreement with Marinopoulos Coffee SEE to acquire the Starbucks cafe franchise in Romania and Bulgaria in a deal estimated at €16m.
Marinopoulos Coffee SEE’s network includes 14 Starbucks in Romania and five in Bulgaria.
AmRest holds the franchise rights in several CEE markets to KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut and currently operates 67 Starbucks cafes in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
