The German family company Andreas Schmid Logistik is expanding into a new building in P3 Prague D6

The boom in e-commerce and growing order volumes have led logistics company Andreas Schmid to consider moving to a larger one. The industrial developer P3 will build a new hall for it in P3 Prague D6 near Stochov in Central Bohemia, part of the building will be for rent.

The logistics company Andreas Schmid still shares space in the existing hall with the production company Müller Technik. In the immediate vicinity of this 10,000 sqm large hall, the construction of a new hall with a size of 17,000 sqm and a clear height of 12 m, from which Andreas Schmid will occupy 6,500 sqm, has begun. It will be completed in early spring next year and will aspire to BREEAM Excellent certification.

Andreas Schmid Logistik will serve two major retail and e-commerce customers from the new hall. For the international perfumery chain, it provides store supplies and distribution for the e-shop. As perfumes and cosmetics are subject to a special ADR regime in terms of storage, a part of the warehouse will be adapted to them with stricter rules, better air exchange, fire doors and specific fire protection. Another large customer of the German logistics company is an online and catalog retailer, which offers everything from household goods, garden equipment, fashion to medical supplies. “As the popularity of distance selling grows, so do our customers and we grow with them. We decided to strategically move to larger premises. We are glad that we had the opportunity in P3 Prague D6 and that the developer will adapt the hall to our needs,” says Jan Pavlík, Operational Director at Andreas Schmid Logistik.

The logistics company will rent 6,500 sqm in the new hall and the remaining 10,000 sqm is still available for other tenants. “In the vicinity of Prague, you will practically not compromise on the possibility of new construction over 10,000 sqm. The park in Stochov is easily accessible from Prague, from Kladno, and mainly from the D6 motorway to Karlovy Vary, resp. and Nuremberg. The new hall is suitable for logistics and can also be adapted for small-scale production. Right now is the best time to tailor the layout,” says Aleš Zacha, Senior Leasing & Development Manager at P3 Logistic Parks.
