Household gas prices increased by 5 percent in Romania

17 September 2012

Natural gas prices increased over the weekend by 5 percent for household consumers and 10 percent for the industrial consumers, the Energy National Regulatory Authority (ANRE) announced.

This increase is the result of traders having been unable to recoup losses incurred back in 2009, according to ANRE’s director Niculae Gavrilet.

According to the new law on electricity and natural gas, the gradual removal of regulated prices on the electricity market began on Sept. 1 for companies, and will start on July 1, 2013 for household consumers.
