Apartment transactions in Bucharest increased by 40 percent last month compared to November 2021, according to data from the National Agency for Real Estate Cadastre and Publicity. For transactions concluded between January and November 2021, the increase is 13 percent. Thus, this year, between January and November, more than 52,000 individual units were traded in Bucharest, compared to 46,200 units traded in the same period last year.
In total, 160,000 transactions were initialed nationally, 2 percent less than last year. “The capital continues to record an unexpectedly good fourth quarter for apartment sales, and among the reasons behind this development are the delivery of some complexes with a high degree of pre-sales, the modification of the 5 percent VAT ceiling from January 1, 2023 from RON 700,000 to RON 600,000, but also the appetite of buyers for the purchase of homes, which remains high despite the tightening of lending conditions,” says Gabriel Blăniță, Associate Director at Colliers Romania.
