The exclusive apartments of the first phase of The Gothic project, developed by Cordia Blackswan, local subsidy of Hungary’s leading residential developer, have received the occupancy permit. The project is located in the historic quarter Birmingham, UK.
Hungary’s leading residential developer has reached a milestone in the UK: the first phase of The Gothic project in Birmingham’s historic quarter, launched last April, has been completed. Having obtained an occupancy permit, the first owners at The Gothic are ready to move in.
Cordia’s local subsidiary, Cordia Blackswan, acquired and renamed in 2020, has completed the first phase of works of the complex located in the Jewellery Quarter, which includes 14 exclusive Victorian-style one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes, as well as a show apartment. The conversion and refurbishment of the long-vacant buildings will create a total of 50 apartments across three phases, with several retail units on the ground floor of the buildings.
Cordia Blackswan is passionate about the Jewellery Quarter and its rich heritage and has experience in working with listed and heritage buildings. The developer has retained and enhanced the original Victorian-era features of the building, including traditional cornicing and beams, finished with contemporary fittings.
The buildings of The Gothic project were built in the early 19th century, and the development is named after the pub that welcomed visitors from 1870 until the early 2000s. Although many of the buildings in the area need to be renovated or rebuilt, the Quarter, which comprises of over 200 listed buildings, still plays an important economic role as it accounts for 40% of the UK’s jewellery industry.
