The price of apartments built during the Soviet era in Riga has risen by 2.9 percent in the first quarter of 2018 to €790 per square meter. That’s a 12 percent price hike on the same time last year, but still 51.3 percent off the record high levels of July 2007, when they spiked at €1,620 sqm. In the month of April alone, prices for single room apartments went up by 0.7 percent, two room apartments by 0.9 percent and 3 room apartments by 0.4 percent. The highest average prices in the city can be found in the popular Telka area: €940 sqm. By contrast, the lowest prices were found in the least desirable and most remote district of Bolderaja, €567 sqm.
