Apple/Samsung success hits HTC profits

10 April 2012

The Taiwanese mobile devices maker HTC announced its profit in 2011 has dropped to USD 152m with revenues having fallen 35 percent to USD 2.3bn (TWD 68bn). This poor showing on earnings is being blamed on growing competition from competitors like Apple and Samsung. HTC hopes the launch of a new generation of smart phones, which will feature higher quality video recording and will help rebuild its position in 2012.
