The city of Prague will have to pay the construction company Metrostav CZK 1bn for construction of the tunnel complex Blanka. This is the result of arbitration proceedings between the city and its contractor and looks like the end of a protracted conflict between the two sides. The decision will make it possible to open the new Troja bridge to traffic, completing yet another portion of the city’s inner ring road. The rest of the tunnel complex isn’t finished yet, nor has a completion date been set.
The court ruled earlier this year, that Metrostav must complete the Blanka tunnel complex by the end of September and that Prague would have to pay the company CZK 4bn in unpaid bills. The final price for the tunnel complex has meanwhile risen to CZK 36.9bn
