Atlantic Grupa sales grow 12.2 percent in Q1

29 April 2020

Atlantic Grupa’s sales in the first quarter of 2020 amounted to €170.8 million, an increase of 12.2 percent compared to the same period last year. The food distributor produced an operating profit of €16.2m for the period, which was 15.4 percent up, while its net profit rose 10.6 percent to €11.9m.

The company’s Delicatessen spreads drove growth with 38.9 percent more in sales while its Donat Mg brand of water moved 12.5 percent faster. But with €33.9m in sales, coffee is the stand out for the company as its single largest source of sales and this quarter the results were up 5.4 percent.

Market-wise, the company grew the most in Slovenia (up 13.2 percent) followed by BiH and Croatia (12.7 and 6.9 percent respectively). Private label sales made up 62.8 percent of the company’s turnover, with Pharmacia responsible for 9.9 percent of total revenues. Overall sales grew despite the COVID-19 crisis, which hurt Atlantic Grupa’s by making it impossible to sell product to hotels, restaurants and cafes.
