Audi Hungaria has begun production of its new Audi TT Coupe, the third generation of the vehicle, in its new factory in Győr. Audi AG board member Hubert Waltl said the company’s Hungarian unit had produced reliably for years now, and the experienced team necessary to turn out the premium quality car. Over 3,000 people are now working at the new plant, 800 of whom were specialists that had worked at the former assembly line and engine plant in Győr. All employees involved in car production took part in an extensive training programs held in Hungary and in Germany.
Thomas Faustmann, Managing Director of Audi Hungaria Motor said that production of the new Audi TT “is the pinnacle of automobile production in Győr. The successful model integration on the new production line is an important activity for the Győr production site: This means that the plant is now operating at full capacity.”
