Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schalenberg said that Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary are looking to a joint opening of their borders in mid-June. The decision could be taken as early as next week, to be followed by a specific date being set. Schalenberg said that intensive work is currently underway to make full freedom of travel between the countries possible, though the severity of checks was reduced unilaterally since last weekend. He added that measures would have to be adopted on the basis of clear parameters of health, mobility and safety.
