Austrian Post has taken full control of Romania’s second largest postal operator, Postmaster, just a year after buying a 26-percent stake in the company.
The purchase price is being kept confidential. This latest deal is part of Austrian Post’s expansion efforts across Central and Eastern Europe.
In Romania, the company is positioning itself to take advantage of the coming liberalization of the country’s postal market, as Romania’s official post office loses its monopoly on mail delivery as of Jan. 1, 2013.
