Average paid employment in the Polish enterprise sector increased by 0.3 percent y-o-y in March, according to data published by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Average gross wages and salaries also grew by 6.3 percent y-o-y, amounting to PLN 5,489.21. Some companies noted a decrease in the average paid employment in March compared to February, due to planned retirements and the expiration of fixed-term contracts, some of which were likely not renewed over economic fears connected with the Covid-19 crisis, according to GUS.
