Bank and developers want to change Developers Act

16 January 2013

Eight months after the Developers Act was introduced, the Polish Association of Developers (PZFD) and the Polish Foundation for Mortgages (FRKH) are pushing for its amendment, including more protection for buyers. PZFD and FRKH would like lawmakers to ease up on the regulations to “prevent dangerous ramifications.”
However, this may not be so easy. “The proposals have already been presented to the prime minister, who along with the Polish Antimonopoly Regulator UOKiK decided not to make any changes to the new law,” said Jacek Bielecki of PZFD. But PZFD and FRKH don’t plan to give up so quickly. They plan to take their proposed changes to parliament. “The Polish parliament is obligated to verify the bill two years after its implementation. We hope the Polish lawmakers will take a closer look at the regulations before this period,” said Paweł Kuglarz from FRKH.
