BAT acquires 39.9% of Bosnian tobacco factory

British American Tobacco (BAT) acquired a 39.9-percent stake in Fabrika Duhan Sarajevo for $24.4m. The second largest cigarette manufacturer in the world said it also wants to take over the rest of the Bosnian tobacco factory, which is currently owned by the local subsidiaries of Raiffeisen Bank and UniCredit SpA as well as investment funds and small shareholders.

BAT also operates factories in Serbia and Croatia.
