The German chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer has selected the Tri-city region for its new Central and Eastern Union headquarters, beating out Tallinn, Vilnius, and the Polish cities of Poznań, Wrocław and Katowice. Tri-city’s authorities have offered the German company PLN 800,000 of support, instead of the more than 200 jobs that are expected to be created with the projects. “The company is considering four offices: Three in Gdańsk and one in Gdynia. This won’t be a regular financial and accounting center, because it will be in charge of advanced assignments, including financial reports,” said the deputy director of the local investment agency Marcin Faleńczyk.
