Becken reports full occupancy of new “ConneXion Office” building in Hamburg

13 April 2023

Becken, a specialist for the development, revitalisation, asset and investment management of commercial and residential real estate, has fully let the new-build “ConneXion Office” scheme in Hamburg. Having sold the property to an Austrian company, ERSTE Immobilien Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH, in October 2022, Becken recently let the remaining 1,700 square metres of rental office space on the sixth floor to 4flow and to EDF Renewables Deutschland GmbH. 4flow is a leading provider of logistics consultancy, logistics software and 4PL services. In addition to the incumbent tenants LichtBlick SE (green electricity) and Vestas Deutschland (wind turbines), the incoming tenant EDF Renewables (wind energy and photovoltaics) also focuses on the renewable energies sector.

Jörn Stobbe, CEO of Becken Holding GmbH, said: “Our ambition here at Becken is to deliver not only a high-quality structure but also a fully occupied building to the buyer. Once again, we managed to do just that with ConneXion Office by providing a sustainable building with sustainable tenants.”

After the sale was closed, Becken remained in charge of lettings and the fit-out of the rental units. Olaf Drossert, Managing Director of Becken Estates GmbH, said: “Sustainable office accommodation of high quality in combination with aspirational architecture and excellent transport links is more in demand among tenants than ever – especially now that the remote work trend is reversing. It was reassuring to see that we were able to offer both 4flow and EDF the perfect office units for their purposes.” Legal consultancy to Becken was provided by the law firm of WALCH RITTBERG NAGEL Rechtsanwälte und Steuerberater Partnerschaft mbB.

The multi-tenant property, which is DGNB Gold and WiredScore Gold certified, has an effective floor area of about 17,000 square metres.
