Serbia’s government is deploying a new law on projects of national strategic importance for the construction of a motorway connecting Sopot to Bor. The road will connect with the E-75 highway and part of the European Corridor 10 road. Construction is supposed to be completed within four years, according to the country’s acting Director of Roads. The projects “special” status allows the government to appropriate needed land far more quickly than usual and to streamline the approval process for planning documentation. It also enables the government to move through the whole procurement process more efficiently.
