Bencont plans 500 new flats in a former Bratislava winery

8 January 2015

Bencont Development plans to redevelop a former winery in Bratislava’s Rača district into a new neighborhood. Situated between Kubačova, Sadmelijská, Barónka and Plickova streets, the 4 ha area will include approximately 4,000 sqm of residential and retail space and 2,000 sqm of office space. The scheme will also include about 1,000 parking spots. The developer will tear down the existing production and office facilities on the site and replace them with 14 new buildings. The project will include a 14-story landmark mixed-use building and a small building for retail and services. The rest of the buildings, varying in size from seven to eight stories, will be residential. Some of them will include services and offices on the two bottom floors. The project will offer approximately 500 flats. The project is currently undergoing the EIA process. The developer hopes to be able to start construction in March 2016, with completion set for 2020. Costs are estimated at €28m.
