The Volkswagen plant in Bratislava is adding a new SUV to its production line, that of the Bentley Bentayga. The platform for what will be Bentley’s first SUV is used for its SUV sister products in the Audi, Porsche and VW line. Bratislava already assembles Audi Q7s and the Porsche Cayenne, along with VW’s Touareg. With the Bentayga, car bodies are to be sent from Slovakia to Crewe, in England, for assembly completion. The new capacity will require an investment of nearly €500m into Slovakia’s existing plant and the hiring of hundreds of workers.
