The Bernard family brewery brewed 358,400 hectoliters of beer last year. It was almost four percent more than in 2020, which was also marked by anti-epidemic measures, announced by the brewery’s spokesman Radek Tulis. According to preliminary data, last year’s turnover of the brewery was 804 million crowns, while in the previous year it amounted to CZK 747 million.
The production of the Humpolec brewery increased regularly for many years, declining only in 2020. At that time, it brewed 345,200 hectoliters of beer. A year earlier, when there was no coronavirus epidemic, Bernard Brewery exhibited 400,600 hectoliters of beer, its highest annual production.
According to the spokesman, the Bernard family brewery last year managed to go against the trend of a decrease in the supply of draft beer to gastronomic establishments on the Czech market. Sales of beer in kegs in pubs and restaurants Humpolecký brewery increased by almost nine percent year on year. Bottled beer sales remained at the level of 2020, Tulis said.
This spring, the Bernard Brewery in Humpolec will open a visitor center, employing forty people. The staff is already looking, especially waiters and chefs. After a month of trial operation, the center will be fully operational from June. According to last year’s information, the company is a project worth more than 150 million crowns, which includes a 33-meter-high lookout tower built around a functional brewery chimney. The brewery originally wanted to open a visitor center last year, but postponed the plan due to a coronavirus epidemic.
