BGK in talks with the US willing to invest in the Three Seas Fund

Talks are currently underway with potential partners, including from the United States, Australia and Japan interested in investing in the Three Seas Fund, informed Paweł Nierada, the first vice president of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK).

“We want to actively work to attract foreign investors for the Three Seas Fund,” Nierada said during a panel at the 2nd Three Seas Congress.

He added that talks with potential partners from the United States, Australia, Japan and other countries are currently underway.

BGK is the initiator and main investor in the Three Seas Fund. The founding act of the Fund was signed in May 2019 on the initiative of BGK and in cooperation with the Romanian EximBank. Currently, 9 countries from the Three Seas region belong to the Fund – Poland, Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia and Lithuania. In December 2020, the American International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) approved a USD 300 million investment in the Three Seas Fund.
